Padmini Singhasan

Padmini takes her name from the lotus, and the throne opens like one. Every petal is set by hand, one at a time, and the strands that fall at the centre are strung and knotted by hand until they hang even.

The colour is laid in and worked over section by section, so it sits deep and true rather than resting on the surface. Each one is shaped, finished and polished by hand, with a cushioned seat and matching bolsters fitted to size.

This is the daily seat, made to hold Laddu Gopal steady through every aarti.
